Taken by latin music while a music student in college, Akane Noguchi embarked on a career as one of the few Japanese women latin pianists. She currently performs on over 150 stages a year, while also working as composer and arranger.

NCJQ returns to Tokyo JAZZ in a collaboration with the young musicians they trained at the Seiko Summer Jazz Camp!

The NY-based band was formed in 2013 when co-leaders Takeshi Obayashi and Ulysses Owns, Jr. first performed together. With each member an in-demand performer as well as being brilliant composers and arrangers, the band has created a uniquely diverse sound that is all jazz.

New Orleans' legendary Treme Brass Band has played traditional New Orleans brass band music for decades and is loved around the world. Treme Brass Band gained world notoriety through the HBO show "Treme" as well as appearances in Spike Lee's documentary "When The Levees Broke," and the popular television show NCIS New Orleans on CBS.
The band currenty has two weekly gigs in New Orleans: every Tuesday at d.b.a. on Frenchmen Street and every Wednesdays at our home base: the Candlelight Lounge in the heart of the Treme neighborhood, as well as other clubs, festivals, and second-lines all around New Orleans and around the world.

24-year-old Ariel Pocock has received international acclaim as an equally captivating jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer. Ariel's notable performances as a headline act include the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, the 2014 Jazz Cruise, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, the Quebec City International Jazz Festival, the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and many more. Her new album "Living in Twilight" is set to be released in time with her stage at Tokyo Jazz.

The session band began in 2011 centered around keyboardist Daigo Tamada (ADAM at is "Tamada" written backwards). Mixing such elements as bossa nova, jazz, techno, and ska, the band quickly gained buzz as an "all-out dance-able band," with invitations pouring in from across the country. Major debut in 2015, providing the pro baseball theme for Japan's public broadcaster NHK. 2016 saw a successful Singapore stage in May, while the third album "Echo Night" released in January 2017 went to no.1 on the iTunes and Tower Records jazz charts.
